IN HIS OWN WORDS
My name is Theo Sahawat. I'm a highschooler, from Thailand, and I built Sonance from my bedroom.
I've been producing music since I was in middle school — writing songs, mixing tracks, trying to make things sound professional with tools I could barely afford and tutorials I barely understood. Every time I finished a mix I thought sounded good, I'd put it next to a reference track and feel that gut-punch of realizing how far off I actually was. The low end was wrong. The top end was harsh. It never translated.
I couldn't afford an engineer. I couldn't always afford the plugins the pros were using. And I kept thinking — why isn't there something that just shows you what's wrong and helps you fix it?
So I built it.
Sonance started as a school project and turned into something I genuinely believe in. But every decision in this plugin came from a real frustration I had as a producer. The reference matching, the EQ display, the mastering chain — all of it is what I wished existed when I was just starting out.
I hope Sonance helps your music the way I wish it helped mine.
